Biennial Convention
CSC hosts a national convention every two years. The location of this convention alternatesamong the three member regions: Western Canada, Central Canada and Eastern Canada. Directors, board members, curriculum leaders, principals and vice principals from across Canada interact, fellowship and learn from one another. Keynote speakers, workshop leaders and feature speakers share their expertise, and best practices are exchanged among leaders from all over the country. The next conference will be held September 27 - 29, 2012 in Cambridge, Ontario and is hosted by the Eastern Region.
Sharing and Coordinating Service Projects
Each region shares what it has done in the areas of curriculum, principal mentoring/ certification/evaluation and teacher training /certification/evaluation. Policies and procedures such as mediation and arbitration, school evaluation, early retirement, compensation are also shared, all with a view to helping one another improve in areas of service to our schools, boards, teachers, and administrators.
Cross Country Communication
allows each region to access joint information and board members' email addresses. There are links to member websites for more resources, as well as links to related organizations. Each year csc produces a Canada-wide directory of member schools available in print and on the website. A yearly CSC calendar keeps each region apprised of special events across the country. Additional dates are available from member organization websites.
Contributing to the Public Debate on Educational Developments in Canada
Through membership in the Canadian Education Association and the Canadian Council of Ministers in Education, CSC keeps abreast of national education issues.
Monitoring Ongoing Developments in Public Policy
As members of CSC, Christian school communities have input on issues related to sexual identity, harassment, taxation and charitable donations, as well as how to deal with other controversial national issues. CSC is the national voice for member schools.
Partnership with other National and International Organizations
CSC membership provides each Canadian region partnership with a wider network of organizations such as Christian Schools International (CSI), EduDeo (formerly Worldwide Christian Schools) and other Christian school movements globally. Go to the Links page to see related organizations.
